Music and technology go hand in hand. When one goes forward, the other follows. This trend has gone on and on for many years, but only recently has its effects been seen in full. Everyone has always been connected, whether through social or corporate networks. The Internet has accelerated this connection, to the point where we can access each other all around the world, regardless of time zones. The way we access and produce music has therefore shifted dramatically, and in turn affected the music industry, in its operations and outlook. The global landscape of the music industry is very different to what it was 10 years ago, which in itself presents many new opportunities, as well as challenges too.
